I've been using AZZ Cardfile for years. Last week, and several times since, I've tried to run it, and although ALT-TAB's Fast Switch screen shows it is running . .

tab%20preview.png

. . it is impossible to open its window.

Task Manager shows something called "MS Cardfile replacement" is running:

ms%20cardfile%20replacement.png

. . but that window won't open either.

Looks like Microsoft has invaded my computer and is denying access to files.

This is a catastrophic problem for me because AZZ Cardfile contains nearly 20 years of contact information on everyone I know and every business I deal with, and vast amounts of other information (including crucial health records).

I am able to run AZZ Cardfile.exe from my backup of an old computer from 2008, but that of course doesn't include anything since then.

I have the .azz file which was updated 7 days ago, so the information is safe there . . if only I could access it

What version of Windows are you running?

Can you import your saved file into your older machine and open it there?

Hi ranchhand ~

I have no idea why it didn't immediately occur to me to re-download/install the program. I just did it and it's working fine now.

What happened to that emoji of the guy hitting himself over the head with a hammer? I need it big time now :crying-and-sobbing:

Sorry for wasting your time!

No time wasted, buddy. I've done that too, figured out my problem after posting a question.
